Year: 2019 to 2022

Project: Sheikh Zayed National Museum (Saadiyat Island)

This huge project in Abu Dhabi, which is of national importance, has a total built up area of 66,000 sqm including a basement/back of house of 5,000+ sqm.

The project’s main contractor recognised the potential fire risk during construction, particularly in the back of house areas, some of which were being used as temporary storage locations for flammable materials.

Their risk assessment prompted them to contact us to visit site and carry out a free survey and produce a proposal for installation of the WES wireless temporary fire detection and alarm system.

Because of the size of the building, it was decided to incorporate two WES Base Stations into the system so the network could be monitored from separate locations. The versatility and ease of installation of the WES system enabled the customer to purchase the WES units required in stages, adding more units to the network as the building grew and developed.

Four successive purchase orders were placed over a three-year period, enabling the customer to manage their budget more effectively. Once all the WES units had been installed, the system for this project included 139 units, providing fire detection and alarm across all areas of construction from the basement to the upper floors.
